SSYRA Voting Begins March 1, 2018
GCS is registered for SSYRA 2018 voting!!!!
You may have seen the SSYRA books for Gr. 3-5 and Gr. 6-8 categories displayed in our Learning Commons. To view a list of this school year's book nominees click the links below or click the SSYRA icons on the homepage's right menu.
In order to be eligible to vote, the Sunshine State Young Readers Award program states the following: "Based on the subject and reading level not all books will be suited for all students; for this reason students only need to read, or have read to them, 3 books from the list in order to vote in the spring."
Voting is open for these student-choice reading programs from March 1, 2018-April 13, 2018. As soon as I receive the link to access voting I will start sending in your votes. What I need from you as a student is to provide your vote for your favorite book (sorry only 1 vote allowed) in the category (either Grades 3-5 or Grades 6-8) to Ms. Emily on a SSYRA voting ballot in the Learning Commons. She will pass them along to me.
The winners of the SSYRA Award for Grades 3-5 and the SSYRA Award for Grades 6-8 will be announced within three days after voting ends. You will be able to find the announcement on the FAME website, FAME social media accounts, and SSYRA social media accounts. Go here starting April 14, 2018 if you can't wait to find out Florida kids' favorites this school year.
Pick up a SSYRA bookmark in the Learning Commons to keep track of the books you have read. Don't forget to contribute a Destiny book review after reading one! Thanks in advance for helping others pick a good read!!!
