Our Library is Pinning on Pinterest!
It is 2015 and our library is finally on Pinterest and pinning away. What does our library like to pin you ask? For starters, you can click on the Pinterest button (it's rather small, but I couldn't make it any larger) to the right of the menu options. Do you see it? Now, I guess I don't have to tell you what you can find on our boards. Oh wait! I do have to tell you if you do not have a Pinterest account of your own. Ask your parents if they approve before you make an account, and you must have an email address to create your account. Parents, you may decide to let your child use your email address or make a new email account for your child to create a Pinterest account.
So, back to what you can find on our library's pin boards. Books classified by genres, of course! Do you like mysteries, fantasy, realistic fiction, nonfiction, poetry, biographies, or is a popular title your go-to-read? There is a popular books board just for you which includes mostly the latest top selling kids lit on the market.
The library is not only all about books. Wait, what?!?! Not just about books! "No way!" you say. Well in today's modern libraries and schools, the trends are in makerspaces, school gardens, healthy eating, photography, and technology to name a few. The idea behind our Pinterest boards is to share ideas for reading, learning, healthy lifestyle choices, and being smart while having fun with it all.
Our pin boards are not only for students. In fact, teachers can find a myriad of ideas from our boards. For example, Cool Ways to Teach and Teacher Resources are just two of the boards designed for teachers. Parents can also find useful ideas by browsing our pin boards. Digital Citizenship, iPad, App for that!, and Parents Need-To-Know are excellent pin boards for parents to find information about today's child and learning.
